201 - Brewed Coffee Extraction - 6/21/17
Part 2 of our B9U series is on Brewed Coffee Extraction. In this intensive 2 hour class, you'll learn everything from
-Tasting for Extraction. What does under extraction taste like? Over extraction?
-Understanding brew ratios, both in relation to strength as well as overall extraction percentages.
-Making changes to your brew temperature based on the roast. How soluble is the coffee? What do I do to make it taste the best I can?
-Understanding different extraction styles and what is best for a given coffee, principally the approach with "Tighter/Cooler" vs "Hotter/Faster"
-Making changes to your brew based on problems with extraction
-As well as have workshop time to play behind our bar and make coffee!
This class is led by Chuck Herrera and will be held on June 21, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM.
